Stewarding at FolkEast
Welcome to our stewarding page. As you’re here, you are presumably interested, or at least curious, as to what stewarding at FolkEast is all about. It really is a great way to enjoy the festival. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the music and everything else FolkEast has to offer but with the added benefit of feeling more involved, getting to know a wonderful bunch of people and really helping us out. We only ask that you do a four hour shift each day with some training added in. Many of our stewards have been with us for years and as our visitor numbers grow, we are always looking to expand our teams to help keep everything running smoothly. All our Stewards are volunteers and are crucial to the success of every FolkEast.
So, if you are a regular FolkEaster but feel this year you would like to offer more; if you would like a perfect way of meeting new people and making some festival friends or if you are looking for a way of keeping your festival costs down; then why not give stewarding at FolkEast a go!
What does stewarding involve?
There are a wide range of duties you could be involved in. We try and place volunteers in a position that is suited to their interests and skills base so please tell us plenty about yourself on the application form.
Welcoming visitors and checking wristbands at entry points to the festival site
Supporting festival goers in the arena.
Assisting venue staff with the smooth running of the performances
Supporting campers on the campsites
Assisting with the management of artist and crew areas
Helping to keep the site clean and tidy.

FolkEast is always a joy to attend and steward at, nothing compares!
I really enjoyed the whole experience and did not feel the role of steward was too much work so a good balance. I feel even if I attended as a steward on my own, I would have a really good experience as everyone is so friendly

What else do I need to know?!
Volunteering entitles you to a day pass with camping for each four hour shift you work. We ask for a minimum three-day commitment but hope that you will be able to make yourselves available over the whole weekend. Please note that FolkEast commences on Thursday evening for our weekend campers. We therefore need our stewarding teams to be up and running by then.
