How to get to Sotterley

BY TRAIN

The closest main railway station to the festival site is Beccles.

The wonderful HACT who had been providing the service with us up to now have had to step back . A huge thank you to all the drivers and the team behind the service for working with us over the past ten years.

We are hoping to be able to provide a limited bus service to and from Beccles over the festival weekend. Watch this space!

BY ROAD

Getting to the new EastFolk

Bear with us on this one! The roads approaching the Sotterley Estate near Beccles are mostly small, single track lanes. The official AA road signage system has been designed for your benefit and for the local community, to avoid congestion on these country roads. This has been managed by the AA and the best routes have been chosen... Even if you know the roads use the signs.. a single car in the wrong direction could blow the whole thing!

Please keep to the signposted route and IGNORE YOUR navigational devices once following the signs.. Your sat nav at this point will take you to both a tiny road and the wrong entrance (normally a cow field!) trust us!

Weekend campers, day campers and those with pre-booked accessible parking, please follow signs to CAMPING - all these share an entrance. The weekend CAMPING Box Office will be open from Thursday at 2pm for weekend camping tickets only.

Day ticket holders and weekend ticket holders without camping please follow directions to DAY TICKETS. The DAY TICKETS Box Office will be open from 10 am Friday, Saturday and Sunday. No entry on Thursday.

So…. these signposts then… they will be picked up at the following locations:

BLYTHBURGH, A12 if heading North from Ipswich

BENACRE, A12 if heading South from Lowestoft

BECCLES, A146 towards Lowestoft - so if heading East from Norwich and beyond

If you don’t pass these points don't fear! The signs continue and will be picked up along the A145 for anyone joining from local areas and the same applies to the A146. The signs will also be at all major intersections joining the A145 and A146 so you can’t miss them as you approach. All routes to the site are routed via the A12, A145 and A146.

You can find this as a downloadable file with signpost images here: https://folkeast.co.uk/getting-there-by-road-download/

Please Note : If you are an artist, trader, crew or guest you will be emailed a Car Pass and directions to the PRODUCTION gate.
