Festivals are not only the heartbeat of a British summer but throughout the year.
They bring people together to work, learn and play.
The festival industry supports a unique and varied workforce, suppliers, stall holders, artists, technicians, production managers, promoters, marketing and PR, agents, designers and a myriad of volunteers.
Festivals and events would not happen without these incredible, skilled and creative people.
COVID-19 has affected so many and for some in the events and festival industry, there are limited opportunities for diversification. The success of on line events has been growing and, although greatly welcomed, they can only provide work and support for a small fraction of those individuals and businesses involved in putting on a live event. The tip of the iceberg.
Virtually Folkeast brings together artists and technicians for a live concert in front of an audience of 200. A small step.
All the technicians and artists involved in the event are equal and paid the same. The infrastructure / technical suppliers and the crew we have worked with over the years have come together to make this bit of magic happen.
By charging for our pitches for the Live event we are able to guarantee a small fee to everyone taking part.
Any donations received will be shared equally between all those involved and provide more support during these challenging times.
We are asking for donations towards the cost of the live and on line event and any extra will be shared equally between those involved.
Together we make festivals happen.
