The Hand On with Steve gardening sessions take place at Blaxhall Village Hall in Suffolk and there are limited places available. Sessions are free but donations to help towards Hall costs are gratefully received..

Seedy Saturday
Saturday March 30th
How to successfully sow and grow on flowers and veg seed. We will be looking at seed composts (we like looking at compost!) containers to grow your seed in, the importance of hygiene, different sorts of seed, tiny seed, small seed, medium sized seed and big seed, sowing techniques, the joy of kiln dried sand, how palmistry can be handy (snort), how to water your seed trays properly, seed dormancy and what to do when things start growing!

Houseplants are really good for you, they look nice, they absorb C02 and harmful trace gases, they release oxygen, make your inside microclimate a happier healthier place, whilst scientific research has proven the they also improve your chance of winning the national lottery by 97% (citation required, Ed.)…
This practical session looks at how to take cuttings, divide, pot up and generally make our plants of the house thrive and succeed, bring a propagating knife and a house plant of your own if you wish! Houseplant composts, rooting hormones and correct watering techniques plus troubleshooting will be covered during this session.
By the way, did you know that Aspidistra flowers are pollinated by slugs? eurgh!
