Book Club and Librarium

Welcome to the inaugural FolkEast Book Club. We will be joined by authors from across the country for Q+As, discussions, and special ‘In Conversation…’ sessions, in collaboration with Halesworth Bookshop.

Abbie from the bookshop, along with her stash of books, will be in the Bookshop Tent on the main festival site. Scroll to the bottom of this page to find out how you can get 20% off your book orders before the festival.

Book Club Specials will take place at 11.30am each day at The Stage on the Other Side of the Woods.

The ‘Tea Around Three Book Club’ will meet at 3pm at the FolkEast Bookshop and Librarium.

We’ll be holding our Young People’s Book Club at 10:30am in the FolkEast Bookshop and Librarium. There’ll be storytelling followed by related crafts.

We’ll also hear our Jackalope Story Competition winners’ tales.

The Halesworth Bookshop near the Market Place in Halesworth is a long-established, truly independent bookshop, which has been serving the local community for over 40 years. Five years ago, it was taken over by Abbie Clements, who wants everyone to share her love of reading! Following a ‘soft’ introduction to FolkEast in 2021, The Halesworth Bookshop is delighted to be attending every day this year, and will have books by all the visiting authors, as well as a variety of other local titles.

If you want to read any of the books before the FolkEast weekend they can be pre-ordered from Abbie with a 20% discount (plus p&p) for delivery to your home or for collection from the shop if you’re local. Alternatively, to guarantee you can get your hands on the titles you want, you can pre-order and pay for copies to pick up at the festival (with the same 20% discount) which the authors can then sign for you.

Please place your order by phone 01986 873840 or by e-mail

Please note: the 20% discount is applicable to pre-orders only. Books bought at the festival will be sold at the full RRP.
