Youth Moot
The Youth Moot returns to FolkEast in 2024 and it will be bigger and better than ever!
Whether you have ambitions to perform on stage, take part in sessions, or watch from the audience, we want to help you on your journey! The Youth Moot is the place to be for young musicians, singers, artists and listeners at FolkEast. Join us in the tent for your chance to take part in music workshops and hang out with other new folkies at the festival.
Start your journey here. The Youth Stewards are here to ease you in, build your rhythm and help you find the fun in folk.
Artists performing at the festival will be dropping in to lead workshops and share their skills. Learn from the best, hone your craft and find new collaborators.
The Youth Moot is a social hub, it’s a place to play instruments, dance, sing or just hang out. The tent is open throughout the festival and you can drop in any time you like.
Check back soon for more news on the 2024 workshop programme and please get in touch if there’s anything you would especially like to see at this year’s festival.
Between all the workshops, the Youth Moot is open to be used however you wish. If you want to hang out with your pals, meet some new friends, or have some quiet time to yourself, you’ll be very welcome. We’ll have games and activities to keep everyone busy, and our incredible team of Youth Stewards will be there to make sure everybody is happy and safe.
The Youth Moot is co-ordinated by Suffolk-based folk musician and educator Finn Collinson. Finn first performed at FolkEast in his mid-teens, so he’s grown up with the festival! He’ll be pulling together another stellar team of workshop leaders and stewards to make this year’s Youth Moot one to remember.
