FolkEast are working with the EAST SUFFOLK LINES COMMUNITY RAIL PARTNERSHIP, who will be providing a free shuttle bus service between Wickham Market Train Station (located in the village of Campsea Ashe) and the festival site at Glemham Hall.
The East Suffolk Lines Community Rail Partnership is an independent association which works closely with local authorities, volunteers and rail operator Greater Anglia, to both support and encourage use of the railways running between Ipswich and Lowestoft and Ipswich and Felixstowe.
At FolkEast we wholeheartedly encourage festival-goers to travel by train and each year there is a greater up take.
The bus-rail link further enhances the festivals environmentally friendly credentials in helping to reduce the number of vehicles using an already congested A12 and supporting the desire to be one of the greenest festivals in Europe. In recognition of the continuing work on reducing the festival’s carbon footprint and impact on the local environment, FolkEast has been awarded a Gold Suffolk Carbon Charter.
The shuttle bus timetable linked to the train arrival times will be announced in the new year
Group Save Tickets
There are a number of options available to those coming to the festival by rail including Group Save tickets allowing up to a third off travel for groups between 3 and 9 with accompanying children priced at just £2, and for those travelling from within Norfolk, Suffolk and parts of Cambridgeshire the Anglia Plus Rover ticket can also be purchased.
